Wasn't the Saddle Justice 6 a No Sale the first time through?

Yes, but that doesn't fit Lou Fine's narrative.

Yes, but what's really surprising is the fact that YOU didn't pick up or remembered this Non-Sale here since your are a lot younger than me:

SOLD ON SEP 11, 2021 FOR: NOT SOLD

Golden Age (1938-1955):Western, Saddle Justice #6 The Promise Collection Pedigree (EC, 1949) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages....

Not sure when Heritage switched it from a sale for $21K to a nosale, but I am quite sure it would have been well before its subsequent sale for only $6.6K back in November of 2021.  (thumbsu

This is the only screenshot I have reflecting the initial sale. Guess N.P. Gresham reneged on the deal.

I guess this 'Tec 39 is just another example of sometimes when you think that you are going to lose (i.e. the drop in grade from CGC 4.5 down to CGC 4.0), you actually end up winning in the end (i.e. the increase in price from $4,320 at HA to who knows what by the time the fat lady sings at CL).  (:

Well, looks like this loss in grade turned into a big win for Ritter as the fat lady got up off her big arse and bellowed out $7,800 loud and clear.   lol

I have, I've clarified that the first sale was a non-sale several times.  But there's only so many times I can hit my head against a wall.

Well, I guess although you definitely can't win them all, it's certainly helps if you can win the big one like that 'Tec 39 and this one here:  hm

Then again, probably viewed as not meeting expectations since it was shown as "Sale Pending" on his WW site at $42.5K.

Well, if he had remember to put in his signature tagline "Still much better condition than before", it might have hit his "Sale Pending" price point of $42.5K, if not possibly even more than that.  lol

If it actually sold. Don't be surprised if you see it in his booth at Comicpalooza.

I think this is typical of Worldwide.

Back in November of 2012, WorldWide had a 9.2 copy of Catman Comics #1 listed on their site as "SOLD" around the time it showed up in a ComicLink auction. I believe it was priced at $6,000. It only fetched $4,100 in the CLink auction, and all records of the sale disappeared from CLink's site within about a day.

I sent an e-mail to Josh Nathanson about it, but he couldn't offer an explanation.

Lo and behold, @Cat-Man_America later acquired the book from—guess who—Steve Ritter of WorldWide.

So, are you saying that even though this Larson copy of Science 2 is showing up on CL as auction ending at $32K, it's possible that Ritter himself might have brought it back to try to resell at his higher price target of $42.5K?  ???

My thinking is that he might be happy enough with the profit made from this book already since he had purchased it as a restored copy for only $21,600 a few shorrt months ago and had the resto removed prior to regrading.  Especially with all of this current controversy here on this book now, he'll probably just call it a day and move on as there's a lot of other auction opportunities coming up.  (shrug)

Especially since he's a fan of these early Fox books in grade as evident from some of his past purchases and subsequent successful resales at substantially higher price points.  hm

That one probably did sell considering that it went for quite a bit more than what he had paid, but who knows for sure.

Sure, but the description still says "minor amount of color touch on spine."  Is there a certain amount of color touch you can leave on the spine and get a blue label?  Is there evidence of the tear seals being removed? I can't see any, but I'm sure I could be missing it.

With regards to a certain amount of color touch that cab remain on a book and still get a blue label, yes it's possible only for golden age books. I don't know exactly how much color touch can be left to achieve the unrestored label.

Tear seal removal is difficult to see in scans, but very easy to remove I believe.

I treat books like that as PLODs regardless of the color of the label, meaning I wouldn't buy one unless it was a scarce book and there was a significant discount relative to an unrestored copy in the same grade.

Will we be seeing these same two guys with their "mop tops" in the upcoming Heritage Signature Auction later this week?    :taptaptap:  :taptaptap:

Is that YOUR hammer bid of $125K that's sitting there on top as the current high bid for the Promise Collection copy of 'Tec 140?  :takeit:  lol
