Is CGC trying to lose their dealers as well?

lol It's a 9.0.  There was a period where every book I got from them was undergraded.   As Shad said, some of their books have been decent.   I think the 182 from the set also came back several grades higher.   I still have the 180 and the 181 from the set.  I am pretty sure that the 180 went from a 5.0 to a 7.0 with CGC.

When the opportunity came up to buy all three I thought that they were too nice to at the time but never cracked them out.

I’ve straight subbed PGX to CGC back in the day. Only a few, but they came back the same or a grade point higher.  No biggie.

It’s turning  a 6.5 into a 9.0 without calling it resto that makes me

I think with a straight resub it would have gotten an 8.0-8.5 to be honest.  I was happy with the 9.0 though.

How does CGC's taste? Just curious.

I know right. Someone on a message board standing up for a company rather than regularly complaining about them.

Weird concept. I must be an undercover agent with a conspiracy.

Serious question, I've seen an uptick in negative comments towards CGC lately here on these boards and elsewhere (ie Reddit).  A lot of this has to do with what I perceive to be an increase in the number of customers reporting questionable quality control.  We're talking mislabeled books, loose plastic in slabs, the occasional loose inner well, etc.  These are all things that should be caught during the Quality Control phase of grading.  Is CGC taking the criticism into account and are there steps being taken to tighten quality.  These small things are the types of things that chip away at customer confidence and satisfaction.  And it's that confidence that is the only thing that elevates CGC above its competitors.  Remember, trust and confidence take years to build, but can be destroyed in a day.  Unless CGC wants to see more people switch preferred graders, I strongly suggest the team take the complaints of those here seriously.

Hello comic book collectors,

We at CGC want to let you know that we have seen your comments, and the concerns that you have shared on this thread have been taken to the highest level of our company. CGC is fully focused on maintaining – and enhancing – the quality of the services that we provide.

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We will attempt to contact those who have posted about a quality control issue so that we can fix it. If anyone ever experiences an issue with quality control or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out to our dedicated customer service team at 877-662-6642 or service@cgccomics.com.

So great seeing this come from you

Why even slab at that point? Will a PGX slab give more than selling raw?

Not sure TBH. One thing all my last CGC submissions have lacked is the fun factor. Just want to get some books back in a reasonable time without all the worries.

The PGX ship is still at port waiting for you to get on. You get your moderns back in 30 days or less.

Thanks but I don't slab my nice Raw books :cloud9:. I do buy CGC graded when the price is good though.(thumbsu

Just the fact that PGX is still in business says a lot about this niche of the hobby. A lot of people slab for the strangest of reasons...

If PGX would just spice up their label a bit, instead of trying to rip off CGC's look, maybe they could free up some TAT's over here...

You suggested doing so because that's what it would take to find the weakness.  A simple twist or often a squeeze will show which is weaker.  It's not like it's news CBCS has the stronger case.

Stronger, clearer, protective, vented cases with no Newton rings win every day.

But whatever, we all have our own favorites.  I just found it interesting someone would actually claim the CBCS case is weaker.

Go back to the CBCS forums then and stop trolling CGC's.

Go take all your slabs, if you have them in a CGC holder, convert them to CBCS and sell them at auction. Let me know how it works out. :wishluck: if you get an exceptional white pager. Whatever that means.
