CGC announces changes to label notations, see what remains? 20 20

This is bad for the common collector but good for CGC and the big auction houses and dealers.

Good for CGC, they seem to want to use their subscriptions as more of a source of revenue. '

Good for big auction houses and dealers, get maximum value for the books they are selling, hoping that the buyers don't bother looking up the certification number. 

This is horrible for the hobby and collectors because we don't want this. This is also bad for the hobby, because once buyers find out they bought tainted books that had the flaws hidden away, they will want out of the hobby.

I assume it’s the same think tank that petitioned to have the grading nomenclature removed because they didn’t like the minus sign

So basically what you are telling people is that they are better off reslabbing the books that have these notations on the slab and submitting them to auction houses to sell, so the unassuming public can by these defect books and the sellers can maximize their profits when they go to sell.

Right now I feel like a sucker for never buying books with missing pieces or cutouts or things like that because there is now a killing to be made on books that have that.  No need to CPR the book, just crack and resubmit.  Stick it in the auction and get more than you would have.  The cost of slabbing on a few things is well worth the price. 

I have bought three graded books this year.   The more I see go on in this hobby the less I seem to buy.

I'd love to know who these prominent members are 

CGC will be making more than ever now with people resubmitting slabs for clean labels.

Who thinks they'll eventually get rid of qualified and restored labels, so you have to look up the certification number to see if the book has been altered or is missing anything?

The label should say nothing but "Look at the book and decide if you want it," since all of the responsibility is now back on the buyer to determine the identity and condition of a book that's identity and condition may or may not be as certified.

And since we all already buy the book and not the label anyway...

All CGC does is have meetings with one purpose "What can we do to increase revenue?"   By taking off the notes on labels and putting them in the grader notes instead, they are forcing you to buy their useless membership  to see the notes.
