I am being sarcastic overall, but 16k subscribers for a comics channel isn't bad; roughly 1/3-1/4 of CT101.

But back to the comic: He also has to pay the presser/CT-remover, shipping, walkthrough grading, and maybe some other stuff. Not to mention those quoted HA prices INCLUDE BP and commission, so... I don't know what he's trying to do here if he legitimately received a $45k offer as-is.

I thought he said he was going to be the presser and CT remover himself.... either way --- the guy just make my skin crawl-- seems super devious and a bit of a scumbag. Taking a nice looking book that has a few faults and trying to do all this spoon to it is just dumb imo. I guess it is part of the game--- not that this book will ever be in my hands anyway regardless of what shenanigans he get to doing with it.

People have no idea how many clowns entered the hobby over the past five years just looking to make money in any way possible

Hacking up restored books? Check.

Badly pressing comics? Check.

Cleaning using chemicals that CGC may not catch? Check.

Peroxide baths to lighten covers and interior pages that CGC may not catch? Check.

I honestly trust raw comics bought on eBay from random sellers over slabbed from dealers/auctions houses at this point. Much higher chance they are not yet molested.

So many there's a shortage in the circus

I saw this video about 10 min after it was posted and I had wondered if this would get any traction here. Oh boy was I right!

The part I find fascinating with this is how calm and collected he is describing what will ultimately look like a chainsaw hacked into the book afterwards. He says it like he does this every day which is messed up.

Yeah if he removes all that color touch, the book will totally be butchered! Those bleed throughs were done amateurly, no way can those spots be removed safely. Going to have some major holes and a lot of pieces taken out. I wouldn't be surprised if the cover is hanging on by a thread with the pages.

There are lots like him. I personally do not like the practice of removing pieces of a book to get the blue label. Check out the butchery on this book by a local comic store:

CGC please help to stop this practice.

How exactly does one molest a comic?

Stroke the spine then stab a hole in it?

Fondle the corners then clip one off?

Speak to it softly before you slowly start misting, I mean drowning it so that it "Loosens Up" those fibers?

I dont understand his math...he was offered 45 to 50 k but wants to repurpose it and get a 3 to 4 , which from recent sales , suggests he would lose a lot of money ...am I missing something here?

Yeah, that's the weirdest part about this removal process.   Anyway,

I wounder, would cleaning the cover remove the color touch? I know that cover cleaning would result in a conserved label but I'd much prefer that to a butchered book.
