Found this at an "antique" store this weekend for $20.

I bought it for the box as it was taped shut (not the original tape). I bought it to go with my carded Tiger Force set of figures. I was sure the contents were trashed.

To my surprise, the parts/accessories and the body top are still factory sealed (including the unapplied label sheet). Even better the inserts were included. And the icing on the cake was the instructions and advertisements that included the Steel Brigade.

Definitely not a show stopper, but pretty cool nonetheless.

It's been a great month. I didn't even post photos of my last score. :)

There's actually two sets of the Titans books.

Peace,

Congrats! Now we don't have to see anymore of your "why doesn't this happen to me posts?!" :)

How do you know it's safe when you go to someone's house for a craigslist ad?

If I'm driving, and the place looks super sketchy then I might pass (although I did go to one house that was a total dump). I've only gone to places on kijiji, so at least there, they have a bit more required information, so that in itself provides added security.

I live in Canada, in a very safe area, no offense to anyone here but if I were in the US (some places anyway) I would probably take different measures.

Edit: Just saw the ad above, that would deter me from selling out of my house!

If I have to pack a gun then frankly it's not worth it.

+1

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule. I went to someones house last year and I was suspect at first so asked a few details about his occupation, reason for selling, history of the collection etc etc.

I also indicated I wouldn't bring cash with me but would go get it if the books were cool. Which wasn't true, I left the money in my car, but made robbing me less appealing

The gun not only provides protection, But you might get a better deal .... When I took one I got everything for free! I tried to pay but the guy but he told me to just take it.... Some people are really nice.

How do you ever know its safe when you leave your house in the morning?

I'm not clear on why a craigslist interaction is considered more dangerous than any other interaction with people.

If I was a thief, I would want to come to your home, not have you come to mine.
