Hey Guys, I'm Chris from the Great White North. I used to collect a ton, and my first submission to CGC is in Grading (i know, could still be a while). Pretty pumped up though, cool to see the status changing.  Happy to be part of the Crew!

Welcome, hope it continues fast!

hello, my name is mark and i'm a newbe just trying to learn how to do this.

Hi Mark, what do you collect? Or are you here to find that out? Is there a character you're interested in, an age of comics? So you might be here for Wolverine, or Golden Age books? Please note we have special forums for newbies that need a little help, and specialised forums for comic ages-Golden, Silver, Copper, etc. I hope you find what you're looking for!

Hello, Jeff here. I inadvertently began collecting comics when I inherited by brother's collection 11 years ago.  The boxes of comics almost went to the landfill, but I thought I better look into them a little before throwing them out.  My brother passed unexpectedly, and he hadn't mentioned his comic collection to me for 10+ years at that point.

So I shipped the boxes across the country to my house - $$$ - where I promptly put them in the spare bedroom closet and pretended they weren't there for 11 years.  Last weekend we had a yard sale, and I thought this is the time to offload these boxes of comics.  I had the boxes in the garage when I opened one for the first time.  I was shocked to see hundreds of bagged and boarded comics, most of which appear to have never been touched by human hands.  :whatthe:

I've spent most of the past week researching and cataloguing the comics, so the obsession set in pretty quick.  If there is anything odd about these comics, they are almost all dated 1990-1994, which seems to be about the last time my brother mentioned comics to me.  I'm going to submit a few to CGC to determine if they are as pristine as they seem to me.  My wife fears the comics might score well, and I'll have another hobby keeping me from my chores.

My avatar looks a lot like me.  It is a piece of art I admired in the Florida Keys years ago.

I'm an old-timey user who just came back - and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to add a signature to my posts. Can anyone point that out to me? I've looked under my account and settings and I know I'm missing something easy. Those dashes that appear under my post are part of my old signature, so I know it's in here somewhere!

Thanks in advance!

Hey there. My name is Jess; I am a writer, reader and artist, fueled best by caffeine and de-fueled by the itch of corner dwelling self-doubt many creatives have. I've had a few (now closed) sales threads here but haven't explored the boards much beyond that.

I have always "been around" comics. The early/mid '90s iterations of TMNT and Batman, and later Power Rangers (Mighty Morphin' variety) were a handful of my fave shows growing up, but I never delved into reading until I picked up a copy of Watchmen early this year per a very high recommendation and some social shaming of "um how tf have you not read this." When it turned out to be the most depressing but eye candy thing I have ever read, I realized I should probably give comics a chance.

There are a handful of stories in my head I have tried to get out, and it seems comics may be the medium I was missing. So I am here looking for artists and editors because I am not prepared to face an entire series as a writer/illustrator... yet.

Are there other members here who have been published? How did you celebrate when you got it out in the world? I imagine myself crying while trying to make my cat cuddle with me.

Hello there!

My name is Szabolcs - Hungarian name -, a graphic designer for years, and just getting into 3D modelling.

I'm an absolute newbie to comics. I started collecting a few months ago, and right now I'm only searching for Star Wars books, because that's what I'm interested in. I was always curious about comics, always liked to collect things, but as a kid I couldn't afford much, so I guess I'm compensating it now. (Who knows, maybe my next hobby will be buying super expensive lego kits, or wh40k figures...) I already made some bad purchases (and some really great ones too), so I'm on the way of learning.

My avatar sums me up pretty much, but generally I consider myself as a cheerful person. My first post went in a wrong topic, so I hope I'm at the right place now :)
Have a nice day everyone!
