Official Canadian Newsstand Cover Price V****** Thread 18 18

So I'm off to a small town in Ontario this weekend that has a comic shop with a big bin section.  Last time I was there I scoped out a number of CPVs though didn't have time to properly sit and sift.  I've booked an hour's time tomorrow morning to go through those bins and clean out all the CPVs I can find depending on what price I can negotiate before I start rummaging, as his back issue pricing is pretty high overall.  If I can prenegotiate 40-50% off the bin fodder, I'll leave with a stack.  And I'll report back here what I find!

I believe these are CPVs.  Had them a couple days before noticing the price difference to other copies.   I see US newsstand copies with a UPC, but no Canadian.

And CGC seems to label this version as a CPV

These ones always puzzle me.  Touted as rare, but pop up regularly, and prices are all over the place, from a few hundred, to a few thousand dollars at a time.

I think some of them are reprints (like  Smurfs, Return of the Jedi, Transformers 1-3) Ive not looked into them too deeply (yet) but there might be a way to differentiate them (perhaps the ads) The regular Archie series had multiple printings for issues 1-3

I have a few of these that I bought a long time ago because I *love* oddball stuff like this.  I've got a couple of Marvel's Frankenstein Editions Heritage, as well as a few Tomb of Dracula issues.

Wrong number on Cover, the printer stuck on the number for that month's Adventure Comics Digest on some copies.

CGC also mislabeled it, it's actually #34. Only a mislabel as it is correct on the CGC verification; https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/1050891016/ . Also its another CPV that CGC did NOT note as such.

Hi @CGC Mike , I am not the original submitter, I purchased the book a few years back. Any chance CGC will still make good on their errors and correct them?

The pop numbers for these is staggeringly low next to the Marvel CPV's. And the Marvel CPV's population numbers are tiny!

The rarity of CPV's still gets me.

There are 11 of these on the census

And there are 862 of these on the census.
