While I'm a big fan of the Todd-fathers art, I wasn't really into the Spawn character. Like everybody I picked up the 1st few issues. But there was one book I always regretted passing on. It included Alan Moore writing, a Frank Miller poster, a Spiderman 1 homage cover and even a minor 1st appearance. That was until today....

I picked up this Spawn 8 for a few bucks at a comic sellers market. These type of events are rare down here. Sorry about the glare, I'm guessing this cover has already been shared in this thread somewhere too xD

I'm a big McFarlane fan as shown by my previous posts in this thread. I have all his big keys, & all but one of the mid-range ones. The one being Amazing Spiderman 315.

So why am I missing that one? I honestly don't like the cover and can't bring myself to pay for it.

What do you think of it & what would be your choice for worst McFarlane cover?

Hey McFarlane aficionados! Went to a comic book garage sale and managed to score a couple of McFarlane Amazing Spiderman's I didn't have.
Finding a high grade, news stand 303 and a solid 308 in the wild was a thrill. See the covers below.

My nephew was kid when he brought a bunch of his Spawn comics to the LCS for a signing with the artist. He's kept them ever since. I said they might be worth getting graded now. He showed them to me for the first time recently, about a half dozen of them:

Interestingly there are lots of copies of Spawn books and other merch signed by the real life Al Simmons who an associate of Todd's & the inspiration for the name of the character. Sorry to report it has a negative impact on value compared to a clean copy apparently :frown:

Yep. When I finally got to see the books and I had to break the news to him, my nephew's response was, "Dammit".

He held those books for almost 30years thinking that was McFarlane he met and that he only signed them in Spawn's character's name.
