If it was marketed as an "official" version of the book, I'm pretty sure Marvel (Disney...) takes that pretty seriously.  They messed up the "In God We Trust" logo (unless done on purpose?), what if they added violence or nudity?  Disney is pretty strict on licensing.

(Un) Surprisingly this hypebeast is disingenuous when saying "Black Flag comics didn't even open until a little before 10am" -- as the line to purchase was already well established.

It's like saying Best Buy opens at 7am for the Black Friday deals.

So how are you guys justifying giving this book a blue label exactly? Its a married cover with extra staples which apparently wasn't sanctioned by Marvel.

That's what i want to know, it wasnt published that way, it was done by some one else months after production, its a married cover

I am an absolute nobody. I’m just a customer who has had a few comics protected and graded by this company because i thought it was worth it. Never again. 
 

It is pretty disgusting to see you just shirk your own standards and support this. I’ve often tried to ignore all the smack talk about this company because it never really mattered to me. This kind of outright admission of total incompetence is appalling. I now understand why people talk the way they do.
 

You’ll never care about what I’m saying here. That is the message that a normal person like me is getting. Why did I even write this? Because like the many others, witnessing the sheer boldness in announcing the allowance willful idiocy cannot pass with only silence. 

I hope this somehow ends up with a positive ending but considering your response, I believe that not to be the case. It seems like entire comic collecting world is either angry or laughing at you and everyone involved in this fiasco.

This is a pretty sad day for true collectors and aficionados in this medium.  The resulting fallout (no pun intended) and the creation of the always unforeseen unintended consequences might have some lasting and very painful ramifications---collectors, distributors, sellers, creators etc.  Such a stupid hill to die on.

Nike sued shoe customizers last year, and settled out of court. This is worse as the book has an actual written message on it. And CGC opens themselves up to liability by willfully grading these. This has the potential to be a huge deal depending on whose eyes it falls upon.

There's been slime balls in this hobby since the beginning. It's always been about the money.

But I thought CGC was about protecting us from some of that... restoration check, counterfeit verification, certified grading, etc.

Still I think CGC should of got in touch with Marvel to find out if this was a authorized variant.

If not this should be put onto the label.

And since a cover was married to the original printing then a green label should be used.

Or am I missing something?
