Picked up a couple copies of this Steranko cover Green Hornet Special! From the local junk shop for $1 each, newsstand issues to boot!

They had another copy for $20, both were behind separate glass, so idk if one was better than the other.

$10 bargain bin copy about vf, but a good reader. More in the world later today. For now Typhoid of Mary!

Found this Phantom Menace 4 pack at the Antique Mall today for $15. The packaging is a little bit up but the books still look good.

Transformers #1 - #80 for just under $300

 

Some are rough, but the late ones are there - the nicest part - some, inc #80 (which is rough as guts) are newsstands Australian price variants.

Which is nice.

No Superhero comics unfortunately, but a few Romance comics not shown.

That’s a super haul!! Those 10c and circle-12c Marvels are great books. Count me in the minority, but I actually like Charltons from that period, especially the books they continued from Fawcett like the Lash LaRue and Rocky Lane pictured.

So thanks to my girlfriend I stumbled upon what would be most comic collectors dream find at an estate sale the weekend before Halloween.  (She found the listing and noticed comic books, so she gets major points for that!) I enjoy the whole story but I’ll sum it up for everyone. 
 There was a line to look at the comic books and they were only allowing one person at a time to look at the books, I was the 7-10th person in line and watched as every book I showed up for disappeared, it felt like torture! Lol 

I noticed everyone passing on a stack of coverless books labeled “poor shape” for $10, none of them looked to see what was in that pile. So when it was my turn I just bought the pile cause there could be good reader copies in there, and boy was I right!

Didn't look at the stack of books until I got home and was blown away with what I found, it took me a good hour or two of verifying to confirm my find..

Here is what I found for $10:                     Amazing Spider-Man #1 Coverless.          
Tales of Suspense #39 Coverless.                             Tales of Suspense #40 Coverless & missing 1st page fold.                                   Strange Tales #111 Coverless.               Fantastic Four #11 Detached cover.      
Fantastic Four #12 Detached cover, missing back cover                                Fantastic Four #13 Coverless 😳🤯

So by luck I found the best books at the estate sale by a long shot! 

Here are some pictures of what I got, all coverless, FF, and a couple other books were in that $10 “poor shape” stack, the rest were $5 each..

Congratulations on a dream find score! The best I've seen in years by a long stretch! I once found a Daredevil #1 coverless for $5 that everyone passed at an estate sale a handful of years ago. It was on top of a coverless pile of comics. Makes me wonder what else those other comic buyers found at your estate sale.

Wow! One heck of a find! Frankly, I would have just bought the coverless lot and left the rest though. Don’t think I would have bought most of the others for $5 each.

Makes you wonder what you missed though. I wonder if someone else found the Spidey 1 cover and snatched it not knowing about the coverless one.

Your girlfriend is a keeper! My wife is an antique dealer and turned me on to countless old comics and pulps over the years.

I learned, probably too late, that the card from Simpsons #4, by itself, at times sells for more than the comic with the card.

Different category, I suppose.
