But there are so many 9.8's ...just try comparing to say Sandman #1 by Gaiman.

Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.8 limited to what a few thousand copies 44 points

Marvel Zombies #1 CGC 9.8 tons and tons of copies 144 points.

Walking Dead should be higher maybe 120-140 and Marvel Zombies should be 50 lol kinda backwards but still both of these issues have a lot of 9.8's

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN FROM THE MCFARLANE SET IS SCORED AS FOLLOWS:

Comic Description 0.5 1.0 1.5 1.8 2.0 2.5 3.0 3.5 4.0 4.5 5.0 5.5 6.0 6.5 7.0 7.5 8.0 8.5 9.0 9.2 9.4 9.6 9.8 9.9 10.0

Amazing Spider-Man

#300 Universal 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 4 5 5 6 8 10 20 25 40 60 110 190 300 380 570

------------ So a 10.0 gets 570 a 9.9 gets 380 and a 9.8 gets 300 with a 9.6 getting 190

Now we move on over to ASM201-300 set type----------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comic Description 0.5 1.0 1.5 1.8 2.0 2.5 3.0 3.5 4.0 4.5 5.0 5.5 6.0 6.5 7.0 7.5 8.0 8.5 9.0 9.2 9.4 9.6 9.8 9.9 10.0

Amazing Spider-Man

#300 Universal 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5 6 8 9 11 13 17 24 38 53 91 160 320 600 1000

Now we have a 10.0 getting 1000 points / a 9.9 getting more here than a 10.0 would get in the McFarlane set?!?!? WOOOOOOOOO and the 9.8 getting 20 points more than the other set and lastly a 9.6 getting less than the other set?

This is one hell of a strange one and is due for a fix up. My suggestion as you've avoided my personal emails asking to raise slightly all the 9.9's as they truly are rare, is that you lower the ASM201-300 ASM300 scores to match the ones that are in the McFarlane set.

Thanks for looking,

Richard

Just chiming in again on the Neal Adams rage going on right now. High Grade copies of his DC work are getting astronomical prices and there will be a need for higher scores. Just look at GPA for Batman 227, 232, 244, Detective Comics 400, 402, Green Lantern 76, 79 actually anything with a cover and/or art by Adams. Check into it

The Walking Dead scores need to be adjusted badly. 44 points for a #1 9.8 is not good.

I agree completely and I think the 44 points is actually for a SS. A universal is only worth 40. Issues 2-25 are currently worth 35 at 9.8. The lower #s (2-10 should probably be worth more than the laters (scarcity/value wise). Just my 2 cents. Thanks.

Currrently, I am not able to add my Bone #38 to my registry set (it doesn't have scores set up either). It would be nice if you could differentiate between the three covers as well (Alex Ross, Frank Miller, and Charles Vess). Thanks!

I have some Chaos! comic variants, that despite listing them as a variant when sent into CGC, returned as regular issues. Specifically, right now, I have a Lady Death 1/2 Gold Foil Signature issue listed in a Lady Death 1/2 regular slot because the registry would not let me do otherwise.

Is there anything I can do about this and other issues???

Also, the Bone #13 1/2 that I added recently shows up as the regular edition when in fact it has the "gold" cover. Wondering if this could get fixed, thanks...

How are these scores determined?

Avengers Annual #6

CGC 9.6 Universal -- 6 copies in the census -- 70 points

CGC 9.8 Universal -- 3 copies in the census -- 140 points

Meanwhile:

Avengers Annual #10

CGC 9.6 Universal -- 285 copies in the census -- 220 points

CGC 9.8 Universal -- 81 copies in the census -- 360 points

Why are the points for Annual #10 roughly triple that for Annual #6, when there are 30-50 times the number of slabbed copies floating around out there? #10 is obviously much easier to come by in higher grade.

Is this not a Universal Gold edition? It's currently listed in my set as a regular edition, which I believe is the copy with the "Bone" title in red.

Hello, I would like to have a ramble / moan regarding the score for Uncanny X-Men #221 CGC 9.8, 1st app Mr Sinister. Now I know he's a villian and not a team member but 60 points ?!

Every other major X-characters 1st app from the Copper / Modern age (apart from Forge's - I know he's on the cusp of major) is rewarded with an outstanding points total (9.8's)

Jubilee - 240 (less points than Jubilee - c'mon !)

Gambit - 360

Bishop - 100

Mr Sinister is a major character that is still affecting and influencing the X-Universe to this day and his 1st app points should reflect that, I believe.... pause.... breath.... thank you for listening and not drifting too much.

Powers that be, hear me :baiting:

Re: the above rantrant

I understand that the scoring algorithim... thingy, works initially off FMV but in certain cases like 1st apps that aren't YET recognised as keys via the OSPG, shouldn't an exception be made ?
