you should get an additional CCS credit too.  Which would be good for CGC too, since you'd continue sending in books to CCS.

Wait, your OK with this outcome?  They viciously mar your book and hope you won't notice, and you're fine with CGC not only giving you the book's new lesser value, but also in a credit that you can only spend with them?

Or did I misread something?

For anyone looking for closure on this one: Once I send the book back to them, they are crediting my account at roughly the value of what the last 4.5 sold for on GPA.

So the final result on multi-hundred dollar damage to a book is CGC buys the book, pays you the now lowered value of the book, and does this all in store credit?

I sure hope that isn't CGC's response for the books UPS lost (and CGC should have insured)... though I'm not feeling too good right about now. When USPS loses a book I send out I pay the buyer immediately...

You should be refunded all CCS and CGC fees and paid FMV for your book before it was botched.

Or keep the book and be refunded for the diminished value.

Refunded as in a check or credit card refund, NOT CGC credit.

I would start climbing the ladder at customer service until you get a fair resolution.

What they offered you is not fair.

Worst case scenario it's neutral as they are essentially just "buying" the book from you which they can then sell for the same amount.

Follow up question - are you in any real need of the store credit?  Because this seems like one of those situations where, at risk of eating the loss in value between original and current condition, I'd go scorched earth on social media with this.  Facebook, Twitter, highway billboards, Instagram, etc.  CGC ruined your book and wants to lowball you in return.  Their lack of integrity should be put on full display for all to see.
