There are people saying it's a photoshop picture that they created for fun. He's not actually laying on any books. (shrug)

It totally could be.  It's a stupid picture for them to post....it's like the time they made a 10' banner of a Hulk 1 CGC 8.0 that was a google image for a book that was like a 5.0 at best.

Actually, looking at the full photo, it looks doubtful it was shopped, and all those books are 9.9

Although by the time they get to a customer, probably not so much

Yea agreed not the best time to be joking around with worried customers waiting on books.

They must have an awesome social media handler. 26 comments, all irrelevant or praising the signing

Yeah, they are heavy-handed with deletion of comments.

Someone pointed out all the 9.9's and I made a comment wondering how many were just overgraded, and it's no longer there.  That's not the first time either, lol.

This one isn't really a QA problem. Longstanding slabbing policy has been to not fold down tears and flaps and the like if there's any realistic chance of losing the fragment by doing so. With a piece that small, and those page edges kinda beige... I wouldn't have expected them to risk fragmentation for the sake of appearance.

It's a QC problem if they caused the tear, isn't it? That's like saying I got hit by a car but if I wasn't there, NONE of this would ever have happened.

That's a different problem, but I was under the impression this tear was pre-existing and the question was just whether CGC should have folded it back down prior to slabbing for aesthetic purposes.

You are correct.  Question was regarding aesthetics in this instance.

I’ve only had this slab for 24 hours but I’m thinking I should email to request a mechanical error redo on the holder. The scuffing that is all over the place is horrible. I may air quotes sleep on it another night. Maybe the black glossy cover makes the scuffing look worse than it actually is.

Don't talk yourself out of it dude. Don't settle for shoddy service ... that's not what you paid for.

I agree. CGC advertise a 'crystal clear display'. That's what you paid for @Brandon Shepherd and that's what you should get.

I received my first batch back that had some scratches on the cases.  I've had a stellar track record until now.  The damage isn't *awful*, so I'm going to just suck it up instead of going through the hassle and wait of sending back and having them returned in cases that will probably also be damaged in some way.

That's well beyond the threshold that would see me sending it back.
