CGC is not even what I would consider a big company. imho when @blazingbob bob storms, gator, torpedo comics, harley, greg reece, ted, and 10 or more of the other big dealers that i either don't know, or am forgetting, all agree to no longer submit books to cgc, then, and only then, might things shift. since buyers do not want voldy slabs as much nor pay the same prices for them, it sounds like that's unlikely to happen. i know some dealers who are submitting far less to cgc. but that seems to be the extent of things. so we're just left with alot of complaining here, to ourselves, and the wind. Yes and it's because "right now" CGC has all the leverage. NewWorldOrder

I also consider what Bezos said (took me awhile to find the quote) when he proclaimed that one day, Amazon would fail and go bankrupt. Quote “If we start to focus on ourselves, instead of focusing on our customers, that will be the beginning of the end,” he said. “We have to try and delay that day for as long as possible.” - Bezos on Amazon's inevitable failure. I agree with everything you have said about CBCS. The rate of return, the turnaround times, the consistency of grading, all of it. Eventually though I do believe that there will be too many newton rings, too many shards of plastic in holders, too many ill fitting holders, too many books damaged post grading that say 9.8 but the encapsulation room damaged them down to 7.5's... you get the idea. Eventually people are going to tire of it. There are board members here that write me with a "what should I do" message. This is fine btw as I remember reaching out to several OG's seeking advice when I was new. It raises an eyebrow when I see from them that CGC will increase the grading fee on a perceived grade for a book then grade it as say a 9.8 only to damage it once they encapsulate by folding a page over and then come up with every excuse why they should not pay out at the rate they assigned. There are too many stories on facebook, instagram, and here all with different books and customers. Eventually the boat will tip. Again, I agree with you that it is not anytime soon. However, a company cannot continue being this short sighted without consequence. Doctor Dositheus
And a dealer locator with logos! Ooo la la! I guess if the math supports the 15% discount versus the membership fee most will continue contributing to the short term revenue growth of this fine company. In the last two cons that I went to I have remarked that I have started to see a growing percentage of books that are normally graded being offered and sold raw. While people are not handing money over to Voldy, they are, as @Bookery stated grading themselves and selling them at a slight discount compared to a graded copy. Popular Post october
I have gone from hundreds of books a year sent to CGC, to dozens, to zero in 2021. I don't see that changing anytime soon with turnaround times and fees in a breakneck race to see which can end up worse. justafan, Larryw7, alexgross.com and 6 others 7

This way more slots will open up for new guys hungry and excited for the opportunity to be a part of a huge connection. People that leave would regret it, and clearly need the lesson. Your angry fanboyism aside... I can say after I left (due to the non-stop QC issues, not price increase(s) or TaTs)...I have never once regretted a thing. More accurate, consistent grading... better cases (by far)... free grader notes (actually free, not the ones CGC offers... if they're even available). But you're right... I definitely learned a lesson. Being the first does not make one the best. Beige, Larryw7, WolverineX and 4 others
