I thought someone might get a kick out of my Thanksgiving Day distraction project, repurposing an old frame job of Betty And Me #200 for my Cap #235 cover.  David

Looks great! I never throw out a frame - it can always be repurposed!

A couple pieces from one of my favorite artists in the late 80's-90's: Tim Tyler. He had some great indy titles like Devil Jack, Blood Reign and some other one-shot bad girl stuff. He's still producing horror-style comics, which is great. Most of his 90's stuff is long gone, but I'm glad I was able to pick up a few newer drawings. He was a little fuzzy on dates/publication, the first one is not published, but I believe the second one was published in a portfolio.

This first one is (I believe) of Hammer Films 'Countess Dracula' of actress Ingrid Pitt

This one is from a newer Devil Jack portfolio:

I just uploaded the complete issue to Travel Foreman's Black Cat issue #7 to my CAF!

But first some trivia:

1. How do you buy the complete 20 page issue of a modern book and end up with 11 letter size sheets of paper?  When it was a rush job and he had to finish it in a week!

2. How do you buy the complete 20 page book and only end up with 19 pages of original art?  When one was done digitally...

It's always interesting to see how the process was done, the drawings are still quite detailed, albeit small.  I also noticed that extraneous efforts were avoided, including drawing the panel borders!

Thanks for Looking

I like Mike Hoffman. I think he is unfairly criticized. When I purchased the artist edition of Tarzan and decided to display it I was looking for some nice OA to make it pop. Since I’m not in the market to pick up a Frazetta, I picked up the phone and reached out to Mike. Nothing wrong with copying a style if you do it justice. And he most certainly does.
