Until I can find some real lucky buyer who's happy and willing to pay even more than that for one of my CA common as dirt drek books.    :taptaptap:  :taptaptap:

Let’s see those potential 9.9s

Not necessarily always the case, with the perfect example being this one time drekiest of drek books:

:takeit:  :takeit:  the money that is, as I would certainly take $44K over that all-time classic drek of a book there.  :screwy:

There is a lot of drek from the 1980s, but I would never have included Transformers #1 as drek. Certainly, it is not the drekiest of drek books. It is one of the greatest toy properties to come out of the 1980s and has multi-generational fans. Pre-Teen, Dirty Gene Kung Fu Kangaroos is drek.

You will find that many posters are consistently and unrelentingly dismissive and negative.  Logic doesn't really enter into it.

I'm seeing an increasing number of people buying "shipping charges" with comics thrown in. The shipping charges were more expensive than the comic, so I'm guessing it is the shipping charges that they were after. (shrug)

Shipping charges are high from the U.S. to Calgary. I'm in Michigan, and the shipping charge shows up as $14.99 for me on the first book you showed.

Yup, I figured. Mainly pointing out books that shouldn’t have been slabbed.

And on top of that add the fact that it's a 9.9 into the mix and you got yourself quite the stew. I would never have called this drek. Also, unlike Harley Quinn's first apperance in a comic, this is Optimus Prime's first appearance in any media since it came out before the show.

The more who get burned to the tune of a quick 10K loss, the more who are likley to exit the hobby.  Don't let the door hit you on the way applies :)

Conversely those who purchased at 5K may still be happy even if less so than in May.

How about when you purchased at .25c ?😉

Wouldn't this pretty much account for the majority of the MA books from the past 20 years that have been sent into CGC for grading and also pretty much their bread and butter as they need submittors to continue sending in worthless books for grading in order for their business model to work.  hm

Holy Doc Ock!    Watching some of the Heritage auction tonight when I saw this.   Caught my eye as I happen to own this same grade but in Ow/W.     This is nearly double the last sale from Dec and the 90 day.

glad it's not only me that's seeing very strong prices on everything on my heritage watchlist. so much fretting here that the sky is falling and prices are cratering. many big time SA books appear to be doing very well right now, which is even more remarkable given the time of year and panicky stock market/ mainstream media.

Last night's $15.6K hammer price on the 7.0 OW is even more remarkable given that there is an active BIN listing on Ebay for a 7.0 C/OW for a full $5K less.

I guess it really depends on the books that you have in your Heritage watchlist.  (shrug)

I somehow get the feeling that the 2 consignors of the CGC 9.8 graded copies of GSXM 1 are not sitting too happy right now with their books sitting at only bids of $18K and $19.5K respectively:  :(

Bronze Age (1970-1979):Superhero, Giant-Size X-Men #1 (Marvel, 1975) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages....

Especially even with Heritage hyping in their listing description the fact that they had sold an equivalent graded copy fof this book or over $70K back in the summer.  Not surprising though that they did not bothered to mention the fact that subsequent equivalent CGC 9.8 graded copies of this book have sold on a declining trend line of $66K, $49.2K, $43.2K, and then just for $38.4K on their own auction platform since that record $72K sale.
