Happy New Year!

I'm going to start of this year with more of the Collection of seanfingh which consists a smorgasbord of Celebrity, Creator & Sketch Cover CGC goodness plus original art and more.

The first batch of items will be posted  today at 4pm EST (gotta leave time to watch the Michigan game, Go Blue!) and throughout the week.

There will be some great books, some unicorns and rare signatures among them.

Looks like I will have another copper age thread of Spideys 299-328 that just came back from CGC along with a couple other books.. Wolverine #1, and a few g/s/b DD 117, Spidey 238 and 194.  all high grade.  Will try posting them later tonight or Friday am.

Coming NEXT Friday (the 26th of January), I'm going to be running my "Sesame Street Presents A Sale Sponsored By The Letters A-P Sale" (say that 10 times fast, lol).  It's going to be books from previous sales of mine, and an all-new slate of books added in, with a LOT of relatively high-grade stuff included (but with some mid-grade sprinkled in).  Lots of Marvel, some DC -- some keys, some surprises, and a special freebie (hopefully) for the buyer with the most books claimed dollar-wise when the thread ends.  

I'm going to post more details next week as the date gets closer, but I wanted to make the annoucement now, if for no other reason than to get myself motivated to price and scan more goodies.  Hope to see familiar faces (and new ones!) then, and I hope all of you are having a great start to your 2024!

The short box pictured contains Joe Sinnott’s personal copies of all his Charlton romance work — 128 books in total, all with 1-3 stories per issue penciled by Joe and inked by Vince Colletta. Joe signed the margin of the first page of each story he drew, with the word “pencils” in parentheses next to his name in most cases.

I will announce a start date here soon but I have just begun shooting them. I’d like to start soon as I can. I will not be letting go of all of them, but my few keepers will also appear in the thread marked NFS so that all 128 are recorded here. In each case, I’ll provide front and back cover images, and images of each signature page. I did this with Joe’s complete Archie body of work as well when I brought those to the boards.

I should add, most of these are census ghosts, though lower grade raw copies are in some cases available on eBay. Joe’s nicer copies are seldom-seen examples of Charlton romance in grade.

My understanding is that some of these books were company comps to Joe, and some were purchased as back issues by Joe and his family so he would have a complete file of his work. I have bagged anything that was unbagged, and most of the unbagged books were of higher grade than the bagged ones. As we saw with the Archies, none of which were comps, Joe bought lower grade copies for his file. That seems to be the case here, as the bagged books were the lower grade ones. As a general rule, it is likely higher grade books in this thread were comps and lower grade ones Joe purchased himself to complete the set.

I’ll attempt to tag here those I know would be interested in Charlton and/or romance; apologies if I missed tagging anyone, or tagged someone who is not interested. I’m happy and honored to be able to help disseminate these to my fellow collectors.

After a LOT of scanning, barring something unexpected happening between now and then, this sale will be kicking off this Friday, a little earlier than my usual threads do (sometime around 3 PM CT NA, if all goes to plan).  Around 700 books in total -- lots of higher-grade Marvel and DC, some mid-grade as well, and a good representation of titles from A-P.

A sneak preview of some of what's of note for the thread.  The JIM #85 and the Detective slab are tenatively going to be in the thread, but there is a chance I might pull those back -- EVERYTHING else pictured lying flat (nothing in the stacks behind) will be good to go for the thread.  No pre-sales of anything.

As a bonus, for the person who spends the most in the thread, a freebie item will be given away (with no additional cost added on for whatever the shipping would change with the item added to whatever books are claimed).  It will be this Laser-cut Spider-Man Aztec Calendar, made from sealed Sandeplay wood (the image below is of it without the sealant).  It's approximately 11 X 11, so it's nice-sized, filled with detail, and a neat addition for any Spider-Man or Marvel collector.  It's lightweight but durable, and it can be hung or displayed on a stand.  After this freebie is given, I hope to be able to offer other pieces similar to this one (either the same pattern, or other ones featuring various Marvel and DC character) for sale in the future, so that's something to hopefully look forward to. 

Hope to see my familiar faces there, as well as new ones on Friday!
